A very uncommon relative of the cacao (chocolate) tree, bearing small, edible fruits containing seeds that can be processed into chocolate. It grows wild in parts of the lowland tropics in Columbia and portions of the Amazon. A small, understory tree that can reach up to 30-40 ft, but often remains much smaller. Needs a moist, tropical climate. #4637
