The smallish, red colored fruits have similarities to the Jujube, with a sweet and acidic flavor. Fruits are eaten raw, dried or pickled. Grows on a spreading, thorny shrub to 26 ft / 8 m. Very hardy to hot and dry conditions, as well as withstanding frosts. #5350
