Grows on a vigorous deciduous vine reaching 10Ð15 m or more, with large, velvety, three-lobed leaves that turn yellow in fall. Native to southern California and northern Baja California. Grows well in arid and semi-arid climates, with freeze tolerance to zone 7. Both heat and drought resistant. Sometimes used as a rootstock for the common grape in hot zones. #5141
