Distinct from and a lesser grown species than the common jaboticaba, this Brazilian species bears dark purple, tasty flavored, grape sized fruits. Plants grow slowly but can bear fruit when small sized. Enjoys a wet, subtropical climate and is hardy to brief frosts. Semi-deciduous. Known only from cultivation, not found in the wild. Bushy/tree growth habit to 12-36 ft / 4-12 m. Seeds are fresh, cannot be stored and should be planted on receipt. #4807
