One of the rarest pine trees in the world, found wild only along a narrow stretch of coastline in San Diego county, California, along with populations on some of the Channel Islands. The large cones, which can grow to 6", contain hard shelled, edible Pine Nuts. Notable for its attractive growth habit and very long needles, which are popularly used in fiber art basketry.
