5 seeds per pack. A very uncommon Passiflora species, native to Belize. It bears small, purple skinned fruits with dark orange pulp, similar in broadly general appearance to Passiflora edulis. There is quite a bit of conflicting information about this species, with some sources listing it as a recent discovery and others citing much older references. The fruit is occasionally labeled as toxic, but this likely refers to the unripe fruits, which are toxic in many edible Passiflora species. Fast-growing, vining plant, with large, tri-lobed leaves. Grows naturally in a humid, tropical climate so it likely does not tolerate frosts. #4649
