(Capsicum baccatum) 10 seeds per pack. An interesting baccatum pepper with a unique history. It bears long pods with some similarities to European Wax pepper varieties. It is often labeled as an Italian Wax Pepper, though it has C. baccatum (not C. annuum) parentage. The pods have long been sold canned, usually picked, by a few companies in California. Supposedly the original strain was brought to California by Chilean immigrants during the gold rush years. Pods grow to several inches long and ripen to yellow and finally red, with a mild flavor having occasional heat. #4442
