The roots have a variety of edible uses, in making flour, brewing beer, and the leaves can be eaten like lettuce. Recently, maca has gained prominence for a number of claims regarding male fertility, but these are thus far anecdotal and scientifically unproven. Grows well in cool climates. #2891
