Carica lanceolata - Wild Papaya

$6.50

Out of stock

4 seeds per pack. An extremely rare, wild papaya, bearing striped, pear shaped fruits that ripen to yellow and orange. This species appears to be sometimes erroneously included as C. quercifolia, as this has more plumper, rounded fruits and much thinner, longer leaves. Naturally grows in mid to high elevation areas of the Andes, so the species likely has some tolerance to light frosts. May be one of the hardier papaya species. Notable for its large trunk. Grows to 6-30 ft / 2-10 m. #4502
