4 seeds per pack. A rare papaya relative with strange and wonderful fruits that can reach up to 12" wide. The fruits have prominent horns at their end and will ripen to yellow. They are sometimes sold locally in their native range, which includes southern Mexico and Central America. The delectable fruits can be eaten raw or used for juicing. The plant is an herbaceous perennial growing naturally at mid-mountain slopes up to 2000 m / 6500 ft so there is good potential for some cold tolerance. Likely also quite drought tolerant. #4322
