Pink Flowered Inga
A little known ice cream bean having fluffy pink flowers. The fruits grow to a little over 2" and are elongated and flattened. They ripen to yellow-green. Flesh is mildly sweet.
An evergreen tree growing to 10-30 feet. The fruits ripen from November through January in its native range.
The fruits can be eaten fresh, but this species is little known and is not cultivated.
Native to eastern, savanna and forest regions of Brazil.
