Seed Availability

Seeds are not available for the Forest Acai. Please visit our seed store to view current selections.

A tall palm tree growing to 20-60 feet. Has a long, visible green crownshaft and huge leaves that grow to several feet long.

Growing Environment

Grows well in humid, tropical climates. Would seem to prefer regular watering as it naturally grows near rivers and in flood plains.

By seeds.

The fruits are quite tasty fresh and are popularly processed into a type of juice.

Native Range

Native to Brazil, locally Amazonas, Para, Acre, and Rondonia. The tree is rarely, if ever cultivated, but fruits are gathered from wild specimens.
