Bushy Acacia with pine-like leaves and edible (when cooked) flowers.
Description: Small to medium sized bushy tree to 15-20ft. Tree is a nitrogen-fixer.
Hardiness: Tolerates temperatures to the mid to high
20's (F).
Growing Environment: Grows well in dry climates. Water occasionally, will tolerate mild droughts. Grows well
in most soil types and will stand salt spray. Fast-growing.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Usually planted as an ornamental, but its flowers are edible and a yellow dye can be obtained from them as well. Crushed roots smell like garlic.
Native Range: Native to NSW, and Tasmania, Australia.
