Bright-yellow flowered ornamental known for its glowing flowers clusters which blanket the tops and ends of branches, imparting a crown-like color effect.
Description: Medium sized tree to about 30ft. Flowers clusters grow to 18", and usually bloom during summer and fall. Brown, woody fruit pods follow a few months later and grow to 6".
Hardiness: Hardy to approximately 22-25F.

Growing Environment: Will grow in full-sun or part shade. Provide moderate water, but the tree will stand some drought. Needs adequate drainage.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Typically grown as an ornamental for its flowers.
Native Range: Native to Brazil and Ecuador.
Local Adaptation: Grows particularly well in coastal/inland Southern California, with little care required.
