Description: Medium sized tree usually to 20-40ft, though sometimes smaller. Yellow flowers bloom in
spikes during Spring and Summer, and are scented. Orange-red podded fruits
follow.
Hardiness: Subtropical, will survive
light frosts.
Growing Environment: Enjoys
regular water but seems to withstand some drought. Grow in full sun or part shade.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Grown commercially for its hardwood. Was once logged to near extinction.
Native Range: Native to Atlantic coastal rainforests of Brazil.
