Plant Cultivation

Description: Small, shrubby tree to 5-15ft.
Hardiness: Hardy to the upper 20's (F).
Growing Environment: Easily grown tree, will adapt to most soil types, and while it does well with year-round water, will tolerate short droughts. Grow in full sun or part shade. The leaves have an orange-like smell when crushed. The small flowers are scented and followed by woody fruit with black seeds.
Propagation: By seed.

Origin and Distribution

Native to coastal forests of New Zealand.
