Yellow fruit, resembling a medium-sized tomato. The pulp is highly aromatic.
Description: A medium sized shrub or multi-branching tree up to 10ft high. Branches are often twisted and thorny, leaves large and withered, with white hairs that shine in the light. Fruit is poisonous when unripe.

Uses: Eaten fresh or used in jams and jellies. This fruit comprises up to 50% of the diet for the Maned Wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus). Popular amongst many other mammal and bird species as well.
Native Range: Native to scrub-land regions of Brazil. The fruta-de-lobo is closely tied with the maned wolf's existence and as such, is declining in number with the endangerment of the maned wolf.
