Small berry sized fruit growing on a tiny shrub like plant. Berries and foliage have a spicy smell and berries are supposedly edible and were once used as a spice.
Description: Very short (2-6ft) shrubby bush growing well in
arid climates. Flowers are small, similar to citrus flowers and have a nice scent.
Hardiness: Hardy to some frost.
Growing Environment: Needs little water and will survive freezes. Grow in
full sun, will also survive well in very hot climates.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Berries are supposedly edible, although caution should be taken to avoid the foilage as it can cause rashes in some people.
Native Range: Native to coastal Southern California near San Diego and south to Baja California, Mexico.
