Small yellow fruit about an inch or two around. The pulp is translucent to white in color, with supposedly a madruno-like flavor.
Description: A short tree, usually to 10-15ft. It is a fairly fast-grower for a Garcinia and can fruit within 2-3 years from seed.
Hardiness: Unknown. Probably not frost hardy.
Growing Environment: Grow in part-shade to full sun. Water regularly. Needs a high humidity environment to flourish. Should do well in containers.
Propagation: By seeds. Seeds should not be allowed to dry out.
Uses: Fruits are eaten fresh. The aromatic, sour pulp is used to flavor beverages, jams and jellies.
Native Range: Native to Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama).
