A tasty, but relatively unknown passion fruit, the Bell Apple has similarities to the water lemon, with orange-yellow fruits that have a sweet, succulent pulp.
Description: A tropical Passiflora, fast-growing and vining. Flowers are blue and red, a bit like both P. laurifolia and P. quadgrangularis. The fruits grow to 4".
Hardiness: Exact hardiness is unknown, but it is tropical and should be protected from prolonged temperatures below 50-55F. Not frost hardy.
Growing Environment: Not much information is available, but it would seem to enjoy humid, tropical climates with regular water and well-drained soil.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Fruits are eaten fresh and are repotedly quite good in flavor.
Native Range: Native to the Amazon jungle region.
