A small white-berried shrub native to the pinelands of Florida and the Caribbean.
Description: Small shrub, generally not exceeding 10ft. Some plants may have a few spines. Growth habit is bushy. Flowers are small, white, followed by white berry-like fruits.
Hardiness: Hardy to 20-25F.
Growing Environment: A fairly tough shrub, it grows well in full sun and in most soils. It is marginally salt tolerant. Will do better in humid climates.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Used as an attractive and durable landscape shrub. The flowers and fruit are quite pretty and very popular with birds.
Native Range: Native from coastal Florida, through the West Indies and into parts of Central and South America.
