| Rocotillo Pepper | |
| Capsicum chinense |

An uncommon habanero-type pepper with medium sized, red, wrinkled fruits. The fruits are mildly hot, along with a fruity flavor. There is considerable confusion with this variety, as there appear to be both C. chinense and C. baccatum peppers referred to as "rocotillo". Though they are of similar appearance and heat, their origin is different. To add to the confusion, there are differing peppers in various regions of the world that are locally called rocotillo. The information listed here is for a standard C. chinense type.
Maturity: 90-95 days.
Heat:
Mildly hot.
Origin: South America. The baccatum version is from Peru, the chinense version is of unknown exact origin.
