Pimenta de Neyde Pepper
Capsicum annuum x chinense

One of the most beautiful peppers around today, this variety is still very rare. Foliage is dark purple, accented with green. Unlike virtually all other peppers, this variety changes color very little, turning from dark purple to a dark neon purple upon ripening. Flowers are white, with dark purple centers. The variety is quite hard to locate and is grown as a collectors ornamental and for its very hot fruits. It is reportedly named after the woman that discovered it.

Maturity: 80-100 days.

Heat: Hot.

Origin: The cross apparently originated in Brazil.
