Delicious fruit, sweeter than the rambutan and lychee, but very rare outside of southeast Asia.

Growing Environment: An ultra-tropical species, needing lots of water for much of the year, and a humid climate.

Propagation:
Sometimes by seeds which can be either male or female, but there are a number of named varieties propagated by grafting and air layering.

Uses: Fruits are eaten fresh.

Native Range: Native to Western Malaysia. Cultivated in parts of southeast Asia but rarely elsewhere.
