Candle Stick Tree

a.k.a. Candle Tree, Candlestick Tree  


Striking, waxy skinned green-yellow fruit that is popular in parts of Mexico. Fruits grow to 12" long.

Description: Medium sized tree.

Hardiness: Unknown.

Growing Environment: Grows well in tropical regions but will survive frosts. The Candle Stick Tree is fairly adaptable to a range of soils and climate conditions. Not much attention is usually given to cultivation requirements.

Propagation: By seeds.

Uses: Fruits and seeds are edible. The tree is also commonly grown as an ornamental for its strange appearance when fruits are ripening.

Native Range: Native to Central and South America.
