| Dinosaur Gourd | |
| Lagenaria siceraria |

A large and strange gourd with glossy, hard green skin that has prominent plate-like projections---appearing almost like armor. The fruits can grow to 2ft long, with straight necks when grown on a trellis. Traditionally the fruits were supposedly used to decorate sweat lodges, but are now popular used in crafts and gourd art.
Maturity: 120 Days
Origin: Louisiana, 20th century; but probably dates back hundreds of years.
