Dark red fruit about 1-2 around, with very juicy sub acid pulp.
Description: A medium-large sized tree to 30-40ft. There is a yellow fruiting form.
Hardiness: The red mombin is somewhat
tender and will not stand freezing temperatures. It will weather short
frosts.
Growing Environment: Protect from winds, salt-spray, provide good drainage and fertilize
several times a year.
Propagation: By seed and cuttings. The red mombin is easily grown
from large hardwood cuttings and they are often used for a living
fence.
