A round, yellow skinned jujube relative having thin white pulp that has a slightly sweet flavor. Fruits reach about an inch around and typically have a slight brown tinge.
Description: An evergreen tree growing to 15-45 feet. Characteristic of many of the jujube's, leaves have three prominent, lateral veins which show through to their surface. Fruits have thin white pulp surrounding (usually) a single seed.
Hardiness: Unknown.
Growing Environment: Trees will stand some drought, though they need adequate watering during growing season.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Fruits are eaten fresh and reportedly have a pleasing, slightly sweet flavor. Fruits are supposedly rich in vitamin C and are occasionally cultivated in their native range.
Native Range: Native to arid and sandy areas having occasional floods, in the Northeast part of Brazil.
