A wild, forest, nut bearing tree with 2-3" fruits that contain a single seed (the nut). The nuts can be eaten raw or roasted and are collected locally. They can sometimes be found in local markets.
Description: An evergreen tree growing to 15-100 feet. White-pink flower clusters are born on distinct, extremely long inflorescences measuring up to 7" long. Fruits ripen between January and March in its native range.

Growing Environment: Likely thrives in humid, tropical environments.

Uses: The seeds (nut) can be eaten. They are very high in protein and locally popular in the Amazon.
