(Zea mays mexicana) 10 seeds per pack. Believed to be the wild ancestor of modern corn. Bears slender, prolific, single row spikes of seeds and the plants have a corn-like growth habit. Flowering is later in the year, so plants need a longer season than standard corn to ripen seeds. The plants have some traditional edible uses. Some Mexican farmers grow teosinte along with standard corn crops to allegedly strengthen production (probably unproven) while other corn farmers consider the species a weed. An interesting curiosity. #3491
