Stenocereus eruca - Creeping Devil Cactus

5 seeds per pack. A fabulously interesting and strange cactus, most notable for its unique growth habit. It grows directly along the ground, forming new roots as the plant pushes forward. Over time, the ends die back, creating an almost slow 'movement' of the cactus. Stems are silver-gray-green, with prominent spikes. Large nocturnal flowers are several inches long and are followed by spiny, edible, red-fleshed fruits. Native to the Pacific coastal region of Baja California Sur. Marginal frost tolerance. #4694
