Brown, round and flattened fruit with a sweet, juicy orange pulp. Fruit is highly esteemed in some areas, and rarely known outside of South America.
Description: Large tree to 150ft.
Hardiness: Unknown.
Growing Environment: Likes to grow in humid tropical to
subtropical regions with lots of rainfall. Many trees tend
to bear fibrous fruits.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Mainly eaten fresh out of hand.
Native Range: Native to the upper Amazon regions of Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. Little known outside of its native range. Fruit is sold in local market of the upper Amazon.
