Description: Small tuberous shrub with huge leaves, up to several feet long.
Hardiness: Has mild cold hardiness, to at least 32F, and the tubers will probably survive a few degrees lower.
Growing Environment: Grows best in shade or filtered sun. Water regularly, protect from extreme low humidity.
Propagation: By seed and root cuttings.
Uses: Grown as an exotic ornamental in tropical and subtropical climates, both for its flowers and its foliage.
Native Range: Native to Central and South America.
