Grown as an exotic ornamental in tropical and subtropical climates, both for its flowers and its foliage.

Plant Cultivation

Small tuberous shrub with huge leaves, up to several feet long. Has mild cold hardiness, to at least 32F, and the tubers will probably survive a few degrees lower. Grows best in shade or filtered sun. Water regularly, protect from extreme low humidity. Propagation: By seed and root cuttings.
