Small fruit resembling a strawberry guava but with red-purple colored pulp. Supposedly has firm, sweet, slightly acidic flavored pulp.

Medium to large sized tree up to 50+ feet tall.

Native Range
Native to high-altitude forests of Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. Occasionally grown as dooryard tree but not cultivated.
